Parent Teacher Association at Haut-Lac International Bilingual School
Our Association has come to life this school year 2009/10!
We, the committee representatives and the members of the association wish to play a meaningful support role in the life of the School community articulated in the following PTA objectives:
- Providing helpful information and relevant contacts for newcomers to our school
The welcome committee has already updated an existing guide for new families and has plans to incorporate lots of new ideas for the next more detailed issue. There are also regular meetings for newcomers as well as the social apéro evening at the beginning of the school year.
- Organizing informal, fun events for parents & teachers & students.
Lots of ideas need to be put into action this year and hopefully these ideas will also raise funds in support for meaningful programs which we can then redistribute within the school community.
- Providing an opportunity for discussion and dialogue.
Monthly meetings, mostly on the first Tuesday evening of each month, provide the opportunity for every body on the committee to exchange ideas, ask questions and discuss PTA objectives.
Parents and teachers who are members of our association but not members of the committee are welcome to attend these meetings.
We are all very excited about this first significant organisational milestone with the set-up of our PTA. Yet, this is hopefully just the beginning in establishing meaningful parent-teacher initiatives.. Many ideas will need to be defined and put into action. YOUR involvement would be highly appreciated. These are some of the reasons why:
Your suggestions embodied in PTA initiatives could lead to changes which improve the school and the working environment of your children. You will get to know more about what is happening in and around the school and further appreciate how the school’s management is achieving their objectives for your children.
Helping to professionalise our PTAwork using your specific expertise which you will have gained (either as your hobby; your previous or current job; your passion etc ) could be mutually beneficial and rewarding for the PTA organisation and yourself .
Last but not least it is always an ideal opportunity to meet nice new parents, build contacts and exchange information, concerns and ideas.
